Our office is located at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Spruce Street at the edge of Downtown Scranton, Pennsylvania, a city currently celebrated as the home of the Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company on NBC's Emmy-winning comedy, The Office. Named after Seldon T. and George W. Scranton, the industrious founders of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad (DL&W), historically, Scranton was known far and wide for its deposits of clean-burning anthracite coal. In 1886, Scranton became the home of the nation's first continuously-operating electrified streetcar system, earning the nickname "The Electric City." Scranton is the home of one of the country's largest, most famous St. Patrick's Day parades, attracting thousands of visitors from around the world. In recent years, Scranton has experienced a renewed sense of revitalization as a number of popular shops, restaurants, hotels, businesses and cultural attractions have opened their doors and continue to prosper in the heart of the Downtown.

Pittston, Pennsylvania, is a charming, small city that lies along the edge of the beautiful Susquehanna River, often referred to as "The Mighty Susquehanna." In the early years, anthracite coal was one of a number of industries that kept the City's immigrant population employed. The ethnic diversity in the City and its surrounds is reflected in the many diverse churches whose spires grace the skies. In 2008, City renovations included installing brick sidewalks, attractive street lights and new signage throughout the Downtown. Each year, Pittston, nicknamed "The Tomato Capital," plays host to The Pittston Tomato Festival, a highly-anticipated, four-day event that attracts over 50,000 people each year. Food, entertainment, a parade, rides, a 5K run and loads of homegrown Pittston tomatoes make this an event not to be missed.

Inside a restored historic building in the borough of Downtown Towanda, O'Malley & Langan attorneys serve clients from numerous outlying towns and villages. Just minutes past Main Street, scenic mountain ranges are crowned with brilliant blue skies and the rural landscape is dotted with barns, haybales and an occasional stand of sunflowers. Farmers' fields stretch long and green across sweeping plains and gentle valleys. In recent months, as oil and gas exploration and drilling is changing the very nature of the region, typical hometown challenges have given way to bigger, broader concerns about water quality, crop safety, livestock protection and more. A testament to the character of the people who have worked this land for generations, questions about "I" and "My" are turning into heartfelt concerns about "We" and "Us" as methane continues to bubble up in and around the Susquehanna, threatening the homes, health and livelihoods of this and future generations.

The newest office of O'Malley & Langan is located in the Hayden Tower at the Markle Building in Downtown Hazleton. Built in 1910 and recognized as the tallest building in Luzerne County, the 11-story Markle Building has managed to retain its original appearance while undergoing many interior changes and modern renovations. The boroughs and suburban areas in and around the city are home to one of the most culturally diverse populations in Northeastern Pennsylvania. A large part of the workforce finds employment at one of many local manufacturers who appreciate the area's available labor pool, strong work ethic and proximity to Interstates 80, 81 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Over 100,000 visitors flock to the area each year for the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce's FunFest, a two-day summer celebration that is one of the largest events in the county. Crowds are drawn to the sweet and spicy aromas of various ethnic foods, the pageantry and excitement of the Annual Parade, and the sounds of engines revving and horns blaring inside the eagerly anticipated Car Show.
